Feb. 3, 2012: Globalstar, Inc. announced its commercial & recreational customers are experiencing significant improvements in Globalstar’s satellite phone service. The enhancements to Globalstar’s service is the result of the company’s recently deployed second-generation satellites, designed to support its current voice, Duplex & Simplex data products & services including its SPOT brand of retail products.
On Dec. 28, 2011, the company successfully completed its third launch of six second-generation satellites from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. Globalstar expects to announce an update regarding the timing of its fourth launch in the next few weeks. Globalstar is on pace to be the first Mobile Satellite Services provider to launch, deploy & utilize a second-generation constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to service new & existing customers all over the world.
