History of the Handheld Satellite Phone

To say that satellites came a bit late is actually wrong. If you are going to take the technical definition of “satellites” by heart, it refers to the celestial bodies that are revolving around the earth or any other planets. That means the moon is a natural satellite. Although natural satellites have definite impact on earth’s changes—such as the high and low tides of the seas depending on the phases of the moon—it is the artificial satellites that modified the way we think and do communications. Because of these satellites, we are able to send messages, whether through text or phone call, virtually everywhere else in the world, even in areas that can no longer be reached by cellular towers. They have brought down the cost of airtime and have played a huge role in warfare and sea transport.
